This Blu-Ray player uses Pioneer’s Precise Pixel Driver image processor and a 4K Reference Converter to deliver the finest picture quality available for your system. Its double-layered chassis provides a low center of gravity and a highly rigid structure that increases component performance over a lifetime. 4K reference converter upscales feed up to 4K/60p/4:4:4/24-bit for an ultra HD quality signal.
Important Note - A recently-discovered conflict between Pioneer and Araknis prohibits Pioneer from receiving a dynamic IP from Araknis routers. While we work with Pioneer to determine a root cause, the current solution is to set the static IP address from the main GUI of Pioneer devices (receivers and Blu-ray players), using the provided Pioneer remote.

To greatly reduce unwanted vibration, the PE-BDP-85FD utilizes a double-layered chassis for low center of gravity as well as a highly rigid bonnet structure. Increased performance also comes from the use of acoustic electric capacitors and high grade components.

PE-BDP-85FD Elite Blu-Ray players use Pioneer’s new advanced video engine - consisting of the Precise Pixel Driver image processor and Pioneer’s new 4K Reference Converter - to upscale existing disc-based or network content to Ultra HD 4K resolution (4K/60P/4:4:4/24-bit.) This provides the finest picture quality possible when used with a compatible display, and the upscaled video has an output via HDMI utilizing full 18GBPS bandwidth.
High-Resolution Audio
The BDP-85FD is capable of audiophile-quality sound output, playing DVD audio, SACD and the most popular high-resolution audio files with ease. A Direct Function Circuit used in pure analog audio playback mode shuts off all video circuits and dedicates processing power to audio components.
Smart Networking Features
Get plug-and-play convenience right out of the box through DLNA®, which allows users to share audio and video content from a PC via a home network. The BDP-85FD also works as a DMP/DMR (Digital Media Player/Digital Media Renderer) and pushes content directly from a portable source such as a compatible smartphone or tablet. It even plays high-resolution music content from USB, disc, and hard drive devices. Lastly, it offers YouTube’s “Send to TV,” making it extremely easy to watch YouTube videos using paired devices.
Compatible with iControlAV5 Remote App*
With Pioneer’s free app, you can use your iPod® touch, iPhone® or iPad® as a remote for controlling the Blu-Ray Disc player’s basic functions. The app is also compatible with Android. Enjoy smooth control from your device, with support for 8 languages (same setting as your device). It is freely available from the App Store or via Google Play. *Blu-Ray Disc player needs to be connected to a home LAN network in a wireless LAN environment.
