12" High Excursion Driver With 2.5" Voice Coil
 
Acting like a piston to an engine, the voice coil provides the motor force to move the speaker in and out. The large 2.5" diameter keeps the voice coil cool as it drives the woofer in and out. The high excursion moves the air that produces this subwoofer's high output. The 500W power handling also pairs nicely with one of the Episode Hybrid or subwoofer amplifiers.
